Perception’s Hi Life Kayak Embodies Fun on Water

New SUP-influenced kayak adds fun to any adventure

GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 27, 2016) – Perception, a leader in recreational and touring kayaks for 40 years, today introduces the SUP-influenced Hi Life 11.0: a highly stable, sit-on-top kayak that can be paddled like a kayak or a SUP.

“The Hi Life plays doubles duty. Paddle it like a smooth-tracking kayak or stand up with ease for a stable SUP-like experience,” said Evan Lyendecker, marketing director for Perception. “Its versatility and recreational features make it the perfect kayak for anyone from adults to children who want to play on the water.”

The Hi Life’s low profile hull shape delivers stability, super-smooth tracking and acceleration for both kayaking and stand-up paddling while also offering a great recreational platform for diving, fishing or just lounging. Fun-on-the-water inspired features include a low rear swim deck with molded-in handles for easy re-entry; track pads on the stern and mid-ship to help keep your footing; and a foam bow deck for comfortable extra seating. The entire Hi Life deck was designed with paddlers, their kids and dogs in mind.

Comfort and versatility are taken to the next level in the kayak’s ergonomic seat design: a padded seat back and seat bottom on an 11.25 inch-high molded-in platform provides an easy transition between sitting and standing, but it’s equipped with a pull-up strap for standing assistance when needed. Fold down the seat back and stand on the raised seating area for diving or sight casting when fishing. Underneath is a cooler recess with ample room for refreshments.

The Hi Life is loaded with other features including a built-in cup holder, a rear tankwell for more storage, easy-to-grip center and bow handles to make transport a breeze, a removable fin for straight tracking, a convenient paddle park, two solo mount recesses and a centerline of gear track for endless accessory options.

The Hi Life 11.0 is $799 USD and launches to retailers in February 2017.
